Pies of Pumpkin

The pies are made and cooling.
Since Margaret was two I have been making pumpkin pies for her birthday.
Her first birthday was in New Orleans and she had an ice cream cake. Since then.....pumpkin!
We won't need both pies tonight so one goes to church tomorrow.

She purchased her bonnets at Mississinewa 1812. She will decorate the poke bonnet herself but the other hat came with a ribbon and she picked out an ostrich and pheasant feather for the top. It is cute.

Soon we will be off to.....this.

  1. I love pumpkin pies! I also do squash pies that taste for all the world like pumpkin if spiced correctly. Civil War history--we love it! My great, great grandfather was in the war, died before getting home and is buried in a military cemetery. Just this year we obtained his official records. It was amazing as we also discovered several other relatives who were soldiers. Blessings!
