My Movie Rating System

Think of all of the ratings movies have these days.
"G" seem to be safe.
"PG" questionable sometimes.
"PG13" questionable as well.

Well, I think there should be a rating for Tasteful and Distasteful.
"T" for a movie that has taste.
"DT" for a movie that has NO taste. No Class so to speak.

May I add, just my OPINION here, but any movie with Will Ferrell associated with it at ALL, in ANY way....would be rated "DT".

I feel better now.

  1. I agree. I just finished reading Disney and the Bible(1996). I love that Corrie Ten Boom quote- thought the movie was better than the book(The Hiding Place).

  2. I enjoyed the book, Remote Control- sold by answersingenesis.org. The first section is about movies.

  3. I 100% agree! (including the rating for Will Farrell)
This is really a pet peeve of mine, being that I have an 11 year old.

I've even stopped renting from Netflix because the selections they list under "family" or "children" are still "DT".

I even bought a "Christian" film the other day from the Lifeway store, thinking it would be completely ok. Well, guess what? They said "crap" about 10 times, which in our house, is considered a "bad" word. AHHHHH!

  4. It is so hard to know what is ok to watch and what isn't. The current ratings don't help. There are some PG that I cringe when my kids see them, and other PG-13 that are fine.

My son calls PG = "parent guidal" (I think he made up the word guidal :) ). We joke that G must mean guidal (whatever exactly that means we don't know).

Don't get me started on some of the commericals on regular tv. Ugh!

  5. I agree 110% with both what you and all the comments say! I wish my TVGuardian hadn't quit working. At least then we didn't have to hear it.
