The Schooner Shawl

Remember this?
Well, it is finished.

Blocking.

Turning the point is where I had the most trouble. Obviously, I couldn't count eyelets...but I can now.

The back.

The side.

The cantankerous point.

The other side.

The front.

Tada!

  1. This is absolutely gorgeous! I really, really like it! I love shawls anyway and have tried to knit one like this, only gave up. You have inspired me to try again! WOW, WOW, WOW!

  3. It's beautiful! Great job! I had a hard time blocking the shawl that I made as well, because I wanted to get everything centered, and that's a little harder than it seems. :)

    Lovely!

  4. Keep trying Lori...perservere (sp). I had to knit and rip out and knit and rip out and knit til I got the turn like it looks. The thing about ripping it out is that I couldn't just rip, I had to back out each stitch for rows and rows on the border because there is a lot of different repeats that I just didn't know if I could reconstruct by just ripping out. So go get those needles and dig in!!!

  5. Thanks for the nice comments. It looks quite cute on Margaret and it easily stays on her shoulders. She is going to make a green dress this summer that she is sure it will compliment.
