......It works for me.
I'm a genius! Not really, but I didn't have a bobbin winder and my mind got to thinkin'. I knew I needed something that turned. I have handed this drill to my husband a hundred times. Eureka! I gave it a try and it worked. I wouldn't recommend it to you since I don't know if it is proper in the spinning world, but since I was just winding up some practice wool, I thought it would suffice. What do you use to wind your fiber?

I used the last of a gift certificate to purchase a ball winder. I do love it. It works well, but before that I used my hands. Simply wound things up the old-fashioned way. You found a good alternative! The nice thing about the ball winders is that the ball will unroll from the center, I believe.
