At the 2010 Indiana State Fair it is the Year of the Pig.

This is a big pumpkin that has a sow and piglets carved into it, as well as, the state fair emblem.
Some folks we met there.

This little sheep is a Tunis sheep. The fella said that these were the type of sheep George Washington had on his farm and that later on in history they were almost eaten out of existence. The Civil War used up a lot of their meat.
I thought I might knit these gals a sweater....what do you think?

Well, that is what the sign says.
He weighs only a couple hundred pounds more than the State Fair winning heaviest pumpkin.
I like those folks that you met. I think I would have gone just meet them. Will they be there all the time now or were they just visiting?

Thanks for sharing the fair with us~my brother works for the ICA and would have been there all week at their tent. (Honestly, I'm not sure what he does while he's there, but I know that he's there all week :-))
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a good time and there were plenty of interesting "people" and things to see-I love the Tunis sheep-I'm glad they're still around. Also love the boar's name--cute--though I can't say that he is. ;-)
