Margaret with her fish.

We took an afternoon and went fishin' and to let Molly run about.
We all caught several bass and a few bluegill.  We saved these two, that I caught, for the freezer, but Chris decided to put them back in the lake to catch when they get bigger.

On the other side of the lake with Chris, Molly decided to just swim across to us girls.  (my sister, Margaret and me)

Being a little 'portly' we all wondered if she would make it o.k.

She did fine.

Went Down to the River to Play

9-11-11
we took our dog down to the river to play.
molly was a bit apprehensive of all that water at first.
we are not sure she had ever been in water bigger than a bathtub.
it took a few minutes.
chris walked out to a rock and coaxed her over to him.
once she got to the rock...she climbed on. it was funny. but she eventually took to the water pretty well.
it wasn't deep enough to swim, but next time we will go to a deeper part of the river so she can get her sea legs. this part of the river isn't far from our house at all....it made me wonder why we don't visit more often.

Molly and Ruby Mae

Remember these little gals? They grew. Two went to live with my niece. Ruby Mae stayed here with us. She tolerates the other cat, Tenbrooks.

But, she LOVES Molly. They love on each other and play often.

Molly

Molly came to live with us in June. She belonged to my husband's son. In April he and his wife had their fourth child (all boys). They felt bad that Molly wasn't getting the attention she deserved. On a visit to their home the subject of us taking Molly came up. My husband called me to see what I thought of the idea. I left the decision up to him. He brought her home the next day and we all instantly fell in love with her.
She is sweet and always feels like velvet. She never feels dirty and stays pretty clean. She does shed. She loves to be around people. Any and all people. She loves water. She loves to play with the cats outside. Two days after Molly came here, our neighbor dropped a stray cat off. We named him Tenbrooks. Molly and Tenbrooks is a song performed by many bluegrass groups. My favorite version being Bill Monroe's, of course.
The picture is a good reflection of her coloring. She is usually hard to photograph because she is so dark, but this one turned out really well.
Here is a photo of Molly the day she came home.
